OUR HISTORY

Community Development Services was established in July 2000 to address the need to improve the economic aspects of the lives of the underserved.  Our mission is to provide services that enhance and improve the economic and social development of the communities we serve.

With the creation of our Community Education Institute, we strive to provide vital professional development training for businesses.  Our signature training program provides comprehensive financial management training courses, as well as courses for employment and business development.

Our employment development provides job opportunities through our community partnerships. Our business development services are designed aspiring and existing businesses to be maintained properly and expand successfully.

With an investment in technology, we now provide our services to communities nationwide.  As a result, we recently expanded our services throughout California, Texas, Virginia, Washington DC, Oklahoma, New York, Colorado, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Pennsylvania.

Meet Our President
SHEILA E. MIX

For more than 40 years, Sheila has provided financial management services for numerous community-based and faith-based organizations in Los Angeles County. While working closely with executive management, she helps:

  • Design and implement financial recordkeeping systems
  • Train executives and fiscal staff
  • Ensure the proper management of nonprofit financials

Sheila founded Community Development Services, Inc. to provide an educational platform for individuals and organizations to gain vital training. This crucial training enhances their knowledge and skillsets for community work.
